Gottman Method (Level II) and Emotionally Focused Therapy, delivered by secure video, for couples ready to stop having the same fight and start having each other again.
What We Work On
The dishes, the phone, the in-laws, the calendar: recurring arguments are usually the surface of something deeper, a bid for connection that keeps missing. I combine the Gottman Method’s research-backed skills with EFT’s work on the attachment layer beneath them, so change actually holds.
Escalating arguments, stonewalling, criticism loops, the “Four Horsemen” that Gottman research shows corrode relationships, replaced with skills that protect them.
Rebuilding after betrayal, secrets, or long drift. Structured, honest work that neither rushes forgiveness nor stays stuck in the wound.
When partners process the world differently, misreads multiply. I have special experience helping neurodiverse couples translate each other, and research shows understanding processing styles markedly improves satisfaction.
Build the skills before the stakes rise: money, family, intimacy, conflict styles, and expectations, mapped together before the wedding.
Deployment strain, reintegration, and the particular weight service places on a marriage, from a therapist with dedicated military experience.
Nothing is “wrong,” and yet you feel like roommates. Deliberate work to rebuild friendship, curiosity, and desire, the quiet heart of lasting love.
Both of you, one secure video room. Together from the same couch, or joining from two locations when work or travel separates you, online sessions make consistent couples work possible for busy lives.
A structured start. We begin with a Gottman-informed assessment, a joint session, individual check-ins with each partner, and a feedback session that maps your strengths and your stuck points, so the work is targeted from day one.
Skills and depth, not referee-ing. Sessions are active. You will practice softened start-ups, repair attempts, and turning toward each other’s bids, while we work the deeper cycle underneath with EFT.
I hold Level II training in the Gottman Method, with additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, and special experience supporting neurodiverse couples, premarital partners, and military and veteran relationships. Licensed in California, Oregon, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, and Virginia.
When desire, sex, or physical connection is part of what brought you here, couples work pairs naturally with certified sex therapy, in the same practice, without a referral elsewhere.

Common Questions
Yes. Outcome research on video-delivered couples therapy shows results comparable to in-person work, and attendance is far easier: no sitter logistics doubled, no two commutes. You can even join from separate locations when needed.
Common, and workable. Start with the free consultation yourself; reluctant partners often join once they hear the approach is structured and skills-based, not about assigning blame. Individual sessions can also support your side of the relationship in the meantime.
No. The relationship is my client. The Gottman assessment includes individual check-ins with each partner precisely so both perspectives shape the plan, and sessions stay balanced by design.
Insurance rarely covers couples therapy at all, because it requires an individual mental-health diagnosis to bill. Private pay means no diagnosis is required, nothing enters an insurance record, and the work stays about the relationship. EAP sessions through Lyra and Modern Health are accepted.
It varies with goals and starting point; many couples feel meaningful movement within 8–12 sessions. When time is the constraint, a one- or two-day couples intensive delivers months of work in a single focused block.
A free 15-minute consultation, together or one of you first, is the easiest way to see if we’re a fit. Evening and weekend times available.
